Industry Film School’s One-Year Filmmaking Program is designed to prepare college aged and adult students for a career in the television and motion picture industry. This program teaches the art and techniques of independent filmmaking by using an innovative project-based curriculum taught by award-winning filmmakers and television producers. Students will also have the opportunity to work alongside professionals in the field throughout their training.
Over the course of two semesters (one year), each student will write, shoot, direct and edit their own projects and work as crew on other student projects.
Semester One
Students participate in hands-on, intense training with Screenwriting, Directing, Cinematography, Lighting, Editing while working on short films and television projects. Working as small crews, students have the ability to learn various crew positions.
Semester Two
During this semester, students begin to develop their final projects. Continuing their training in Directing, Cinematography, Lighting and Editing, students will have the opportunity to intern on real life projects. During the editing portion of the classes, students will be trained on Avid’s Media Composer and become Certified Avid Editors. Students will also experiment with new equipment and technology including Arri’s Alexa, The Phantom Flex and 3D Cameras.
Industry Film School is proud to be a small specialized school. Unlike many film schools that have a “get them in, get them out” mentality and start a new class every few weeks, our class sizes are limited in order to offer students maximum access to both equipment and instructors. Getting personalized instruction and maximum experience with the equipment benefits our students beyond what most four year universities can offer. Our mission is it is to train passionate students and prepare them for entering the professional world of filmmaking and television.
Detailed curriculum, class projects and potential internships will be listed shortly. Please feel free to contact us for additional information.
