Students will learn various aspects of screenwriting techniques in a small group setting. Final scripts will be produced by Industry Film School filmmaking students. They will also be submitted for competition.
This class is an intensive course in the art and craft of screenwriting. This class teaches students the essential elements of screenwriting from developing a good idea to creating a treatment.
Topics covered for the screenwriting class include developing the character, plot, structure, themes, goals and conflicts, flashbacks, dialogue, proper format, scene analysis, and how to pitch your script. During the course students take an idea and develop a treatment, then create a short film screenplay that will be produced by the filmmaking students. Students attending this course will have access to computers and screenwriting software, but are welcome to bring their own laptops.
